(Willows) A new cheese plant is under construction in the Willows Commercial and Industrial Center, the first of many commercial development projects that will transform the regional economy. The nearly 47,000 square foot Rumiano Cheese processing and packaging plant is being built at 101 Harvest Drive, the new industrial park bordered by Interstate 5 and old Highway 99W on the south side of Willows. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of next year and will employ more than 150 people.
The Willows Commercial and Industrial Center is a ready to go development project with available lots ranging from 1 to 30 acres available for sale or for lease. Another yet to be announced commercial development project is planned for a 2.15 acre parcel on the south side of the entrance to the center.
